Reading the description of this Omron product it seemed to have this feature. I usually run a lower BP and indeed once it hit 140 it began deflate for the measurement. Furthermore the unique sensing feature to avoid over omron 3 series pressurization does not work as well on my wife’s more fleshy arms. It had to pressurize to a higher value before depressurizing compared to my arms. The BP Monitor is capable of detecting an irregular heartbeat as well.
If the values between both arms differ substantially, please check with your physician which arm to use for your measurements. ONLY use the arm cuff on persons whose arm circumference is within the specified range of the cuff. DO NOT use this monitor with other medical electrical equipment simultaneously. This may result in incorrect operation of the monitor and/or cause an inaccurate reading. NEVER diagnose or treat yourself based on your readings. My only negative point is that the cuff is too large for a small person or child.
The bottom edge of the arm cuff should be 0.5 inch above the elbow. Air tube is on the inside of your arm and aligned with your middle finger. The measurement values continue to be stored in memory even after the batteries are replaced. If battery fluid should get on your skin, wash your skin immediately with plenty of clean, lukewarm water. If irritation, injury or pain persists, consult with your physician.
Looking ahead to the 7 Series, there isn’t much of an upgrade over the 5 Series. Each user can store an additional 10 readings, there are lights to indicate your BP level, and the warranty increases from 2 to 5 years. Due to the additional power required, omron 5 series the 3 Series Upper Arm device requires 4 ‘AA’ alkaline batteries, compared to the 2 ‘AAA’ batteries needed by the wrist monitor. This powers an estimated 1000 measurements on one set of batteries, compared to just 300 with the wrist version.
