I still get to maintain plant beds and I am waiting on the miracle yard tool that will help me keep bermuda and zoysia grass out of the beds. As the string becomes too short, just tap the head on a hard surface sun joe lawn mower and the line will feed out automatically. I was able to trim around chain link fences, edge sidewalks and cut through the toughest grass and even thin branches that crop up in my yard around trees.
It’s hard to overstate what an improvement this is to what’s often the single-worst aspect of using a string trimmer. I can clean up my tree patch (roughly a 1/3 acre) with my echo in one battery charge and it’s a 58V 4AH kit. Did a lot of research before buying into their system because I have some Dewalt 20V stuff but I’m not a fan of their OPE. Makita would have been my second choice for home use. The long service time is a well-known issue within the community.
This trimmer churns through thick grasses and stubborn brush with ease. This had our testers holding the trimer in awkward, un-ergonomic positions when doing smaller jobs. If you want a string trimmer to power through thick brush, this option works great. For cleaning up grassy yards after mowing, though, we advise you to look elsewhere. The respectable 15-inch cutting swath lets you get a good amount of work done.
