The 5140s is usually less expensive than other Series 5 variations, particularly the cc models that come with a cleaning station. None of the new Series 5 models are available with an automatic cleaning station. It is a very gentle and smooth shaver provided that you’re not moving the shaving head two fast across the skin.
The 5018s is a decent, but quite basic electric shaver and it’s a pretty good choice for a first electric shaver. As long as you don’t have particularly difficult facial hair and you don’t need the closest shave, it should be good enough. Speick + the Series cc is now my go-to setup for a dry shave. As mentioned previously, the shaving heads of the Series 3 and the new Series 5 are strikingly similar. Men with sensitive skin that usually shave more often can consider the 5018s.
Yes, there’s the issue of a travel cap instead of a pouch. I’d have liked the trimmer attachment to be a bit straighter rather than being curved. I loved how the guys maintained the level of performance with this as well as the price.
