All eight scored a very good overall in our tests, and one scored high enough to make our recommended list. We can’t speak to the reliability of the Genesis II grills just yet, because they’re new to the market. But Weber has been a solid brand, according to our reader survey of nearly 16,000 grill owners. You’ll notice a single push-button igniter on the Genesis II series, with an igniter on each individual knob (featuring easy-press design) on the Genesis II LX series. The LX series also boasts an ambient light and high-heat option on each unique knob, a luxurious set of features that also serves to set the LX series apart. This natural gas grill is factory built to operate using natural gas only. Natural gas is delivered by your local utility through an underground pipeline system. Confirm that the branch supply line from the house to the grill is properly installed before using the grill. Using only the left burner, I tried coaxing the unlit right two-thirds up to a consistent 225 degrees, after letting the grill preheat for 15 minutes.
Because the original line has been discontinued by Weber, it’s difficult to tell whether this change is true of all the Genesis II models. However, based on what we’ve been able to find, it’s a good bet. The original Genesis grills have a straight-edged, block-like appearance with a small footprint. The legs end in four locking caster wheels, which improve their stability when they’re in position. However, the wheels aren’t the sturdiest aspect of the construction. On the whole, any Genesis grill can be considered a mid-priced option.
The burner knobs, nice big handle on the lid, lid-mounted thermometer, side tables, all there and all very similar. The six tool hooks on the side tables are great for hanging all your accessories. Without going into too much generic background about the new series, let’s instead look specifically at what the new grills offer, and then dig down into some specific models. The lights come on as the lid is opened and are powerful enough to illuminate the entire grilling area as well as the side tables. A huge difference between the older Weber models and the 2022 Genesis models is the upgraded wheels.
Still, the grill isn’t exactly what we’d call portable, as it doesn’t break down to fit into the back of a car for tailgating. A metal rack inside the grill acts as a warming rack, which we found perfect for warming buns for our burgers or portable bbq to keep sausages warm while we grilled peppers and onions. However, you will still need to take caution whenever you use it because it is a propane grill. This product is a Liquid Propane unit and you must have a liquid propane tank to be able to use… This is probably the grill that is going to strike the sweetest middle ground for most people.

Results might vary slightly between the two-, four-, or six-burner models, but even still, it’s just too much money to spend on something so surprisingly underpowered.

If it could talk, it would say, “Well, hello there,” where many grills are saying, “Wazzup! ” The bottom line — it looks like a barbecue for a serious griller.
