Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike

Schwinn is a big player in the home fitness market and the IC4 is the top of the line model in their range of indoor cycling bikes. In addition to its sturdy build, 40 lb weighted flywheel, and 100 levels of magnetic resistance, it is a smart bike with connected features. With more and more people exercising from home and latching onto the interactive at-home studio and virtual schwinn spin bike cycling trend, we felt this was a compelling model worthy of testing. We found the IC4 to provide an excellent workout, a high level of comfort, and functionality with popular apps like Zwift, Peloton, and JRNY (it comes with a 1-year JRNY membership). We also think it’s a great value since it retails for significantly less than many of the other connected bikes on the market.

As with all types of home gym equipment, there are a variety of indoor spin bikes available, and if you’re not exactly sure what you’re looking for, your options can be a little overwhelming. The Bluetooth-enabled bike also has a rack to hold a smartphone or tablet, so many Schwinn IC4 riders use it as a Peloton dupe. You don’t see as many stats or get to participate in Peloton’s famed leaderboard, but you can download thePeloton appand connect it with the bike to see your cadence appear on the app’s screen.

They’ve selected components that are low maintenance and offer uncompromising quality ride after ride. Their patent-pending, durable, threadless Morse Taper design keeps the pedals huffy beach cruiser fastened tightly to the bike and prevents breakage. With a Q factor of 162 mm, and smooth belt drive, Schwinn’s drivetrain provides a comfortable ride that users will love.

The Schwinn 130 Upright Bike is the only other option with a user interface that we like as much as the IC4. Has a 21.5-inch swiveling touchscreen tablet on the front of the bike — its in-unit workout classes will give you on-screen data as you ride, including heart rate, speed and distance, the brand says. You can choose between white and black colorways and different weight levels in its included dumbbells and kettlebells. It comes with a couple of mats, a foam roller and a resistance band for working out while you’re not on the Myx II Plus — something the other machines don’t offer.

They also take up less floor space than other bikes, which is a definite plus if your space is already cramped. This one is also suuuper budget-friendly but still equipped for streaming with speakers, a charging huffy beach cruiser port, and a tablet holder. While none of Schwinn’s bikes have bougie built-in tablets, every model costs less than $1,000 — and some are made for streaming fitness with Bluetooth speakers and app connectivity .
