Weber Q 3200 Gas Grill

We weigh everything that goes into our RV and our Q1200 is a bit less than 23 lbs without the propane bottle. The weight that everyone seems to quote in their reviews is lbs and that is the shipping weight, not the actual weight of the grill. As I mentioned earlier, the materials used to make all the main parts are either cast aluminum, stainless steel, or glass-reinforced nylon. All of these materials will hold up exceptionally well in most situations, given that the grill is stored correctly when not in use. By that, I mean, don’t leave it outside in the elements and expect it to look pretty in five years. From there, it was simply a matter of checking the drip pan.

If it passes the break-in period without improving, then give Weber a call. They will likely replace your regulator free of charge. A stainless steel Q-shaped burner tube produces 8,500 BTUs of heat, which the grill efficiently and evenly disperses across the entire grill surface. It takes minutes to preheat thoroughly, but it must be preheated with the lid down. The grill surface is roughly 12½″ front to back and 16¾″ side to side at its widest points.

I had leftover ground beef in the fridge, so I decided to grill up a burger for dinner. When you make rubs at home we recommend you add salt first them the herbs and spices because salt penetrates deep and the other stuff remains on the surface. We put salt in these bottled rubs because all commercial rubs have salt and consumers expect it. You can still use these as a dry brine, just sprinkle the rub on well in advance to give the salt time to penetrate. For very thick cuts of meat, we recommend adding a bit more salt.

While the Q1200 will be just the right amount of portable for some, it will be a definite fail for others. If you like to cook with really high temperatures—I’m talking over 500 degrees—you might have trouble getting there with only one burner.

Everything else (I’m assuming fasteners, hardware, and thermometer) is protected by warranty for two years. The heavy-duty cast-iron grates have a tough porcelain coating. The essential parts – the grill box, lid, and grill grates – are composed of cast aluminum. Nylon reinforced with glass weber q – in a fiberglass kind of way, I assume – is heat resistant and durable. Even as a seasoned BBQ cook, I am still excited by the electronic ignition on this gas grill. If you have ever tried to manually start a fire, even on an electric grill, then you know what a hassle it can be.

Those accustomed to cooking on a full-sized grill know that a warming rack makes a difference to your barbecuing. Purchased at bjs problem is the 16 oz propane cans do not fit without forcing the regulator to the side because the can is forced sideways by the handle. I have seen this complaint in other reviews WEBER needs to get off their arse and fix this. I called Weber they recommended I loosen all, the screws so I could try and get the can to fit that way…how ridiculous.

These small cookers make travel easy, but obviously limit the amount and size of what can be cooked. They may be used as a table top grill or mounted to a fold out stand with two legs, two wheels and tool hooks.

I’ve also noted this issue up in the Quality section of this review. I agree it’s an obvious design flaw they should have caught and should fix. Also, keep in mind that if you have issues lighting the grill, read the manual to learn how to troubleshoot the igniter, regulator, and burner. I’m embarrassed at how long it’s taken me to publish this review, but here I am, four years after the Weber Q redesign, dragging my feet to compile all of my notes. We purchased the Weber Q 2200 so our review could put it to the test in her kitchen. The Weber Q 2200 Gas Grill makes it easy and convenient to grill on the go, but it’s spacious enough for everyday home use, as well.

An adaptor hose can easily convert to a 20lb propane tank. This is far more cost-effective and won’t leave you running out of propane halfway through cooking a meal. The smallest of the models, these grills are hard to beat when combining quality with portability. Perfect for small families wanting to barbecue at the beach or the park. Fantastic for tailgating or to use on your next camping trip.

Speaking of weight, one of the few negative things that I do have to say about the weber charcoal grill 2200 is regarding how heavy it is. For a portable gas grill, it can be quite heavy, making it difficult to lug around, particularly on its own. Lastly, the Q3200 includes a significant feature that none of the other grills have. The Q3200 is the only grill out of the Weber Q Series with a warming rack, something rarely seen in my reviews.
