Schwinn 26-in Meridian Adult Tricycle

This is to help you make a buying decision and plan ahead with respect to getting a bike shop or a mechanically inclined friend to help out. There are also plenty of good videos to walk you through the process step-by-step. If you’re trying to figure out whether to go with the 24″ or 26″ wheel size, we’d say in most cases it isn’t going to be make a big difference.

I weigh 260 and this trike is easy, fun and very durable. However, this does not impact our reviews and comparisons. We try our best to keep things fair and balanced, in order to help you make the best choice for yourself.

Too many are simply trying to capitalize on affiliate revenue. And often they review only the products that provide the most kickbacks when you buy. The is the perfect trike to haul big loads or for extra support when it is difficult to balance. It’s fun to ride with plenty of features to make cycling enjoyable. I’d guess the single-speed freewheel/freehub on the jackshaft has something wrong with its pawls.

There is a bit of a pulling sensation when trying to break a trike that you need to familiarize yourself with. We’d recommend you take the first couple of rides in the driveway or on the sidewalk. You will have more control and can adjust to the feel of breaking with the tricycle.

Some models have foldable baskets so you don’t need to have them set up when they’re not in use. Adult tricycles offer greater stability for adults who aren’t comfortable riding bicycles, whether cycling for recreation or to run errands. The Schwinn Meridian Three Wheels is only a single-speed trike, like the Mobo Recumbent Bicycle. For better or for worse, adult tricycles stand out in the crowd, so you might as well choose a color that you love to complete the look. Schwinn adult tricycles are available in a range of colors — some bold, like bright red, and some with a cool vintage appeal, such as mint green and periwinkle blue. There are also more subtle hues, such as silver and black. Not all types of Schwinn tricycles are available in every color, so your color choices may be limited by the number of speeds or wheel size you require. A rear expander brake and front alloy linear pull brake deliver reliable speed control and secure stopping power. My wife and I just put our Schwinn Meridian together a few days ago, after my much superior Raleigh trike was stolen.

There’s a HEAP of information on bikeforums.net/utility-cycling/… – too much to duplicate here. I’m guessing you have a problem with the freewheel part of the front shaft. If it was a normal huffy cruiser bike bike, you might fix it by disassembling and cleaning the pawls in the freewheel, but with this setup it will be somewhat different. Otherwise you might be up for a new shaft assembly.
