I feel like I’d be doing a disservice if I didn’t give you the most accurate review possible. From charcoal to gas to pellet grills, there are plenty of grills on the market that are capable of fulfilling all of your grilling needs. Gas grills, in particular, are great due to their ability to control the heat temperature while they’re in use. All of the products below have been tested and are highly recommended.
While it doesn’t mean that ribs and similar foods are of the table, it can make it trickier to cook them. After all, grilling on a lower temperature doesn’t have nearly the same effect. The biggest issue here would be with the fact that there is only one burner. Now, given the size of the model this isn’t too surprising, but it does create a small issue when it comes to indirect cooking. I have to say, overall, I was impressed with what a good cooking performance the weber charcoal grill 2200 offers up. Although it has a few limitations that you wouldn’t necessarily find with a whole grill, I did enjoy grilling on it.
I also own a Weber Q2200, which I have not done a review on, but I did write a review on its older model, the Weber Q220, which you can find here. Got a new Weberq1200 doesn’t even light up at all. Other places don’t seem to keep this grill in stock.
They are able to transfer heat evenly which results in more even cooking. Thus, similar foods of similar sizes cook at the same rate. First things first, let’s talk about the design of this portable grill. I quite like it – its compact size means that it can be set up virtually anywhere.
Weber has excellent customer service, and I’d bet that if you called them, they’d send out a replacement regulator right away. There is a good chance that it’ll be perfectly fine, but if it does crap out, it’ll be within the first few uses. Call Weber’s customer service number found in the manual, and they’ll likely send out a new one. Now, cleaning is never fun or easy, but I feel like weber q1200 is super easy to clean. While wind can be a factor, it’s pretty easy to work around.
The biggest complaint from negative reviews was about how hot the grill was, and in some cases, how hot it wasn’t. I would guess that most of these people had regulator issues, and in many cases, could easily be solved by contacting Weber’s customer service center. The grill grates are cast iron and are more plate-like where they cover the burner.
It’s supposed to slide in underneath the grill body, but the pan that came with my grill was the tiniest bit too big and wouldn’t slide into the grooves. I tried everything I could think of—rotating it, bending it, putting it in from the other side—and it simply wouldn’t fit.
