Weber Spirit vs Genesis: Entry Level VS Mid-Range Gas Grills Gas Grill Throwdown

The open cart, or open frame design of the Spirit II doesn’t appear to be offered in the Spirit line. While the closed cart with doors design appeals to many, in my opinion, it is prone to rust. Once the cart is shot, grills tend to find their way to the landfill rather quickly. The open cart design allows for humidity to escape, keeping it dry. Weber seems to be leaning towards the closed cart design, as most of their gas grills, both natural gas and propane, are this type. Weber may have addressed the issue as well, as the newer closed carts have better ventilation.

If you need even more smoke flavor, just light some newspaper underneath that firepot area and let the flames lick up the underside of your grill. You will get tons of acrid smoke in no time which will help to impart a good amount of flavor into your food. I love cooking outdoors over live fire and smoke whatever the weather, using various grills, smokers, and wood-fired ovens to produce epic food. My goal with this site is to help as many people as possible enjoy and be good at doing the same.

The side burner looks neat, but I don’t really see too much use for it. Open your door to the world of grilling with the sleek Spirit II E-210 gas grill. This two burner grill is built to fit small spaces, and packed with features such as the powerful GS4 grilling system, iGrill capability, and convenient side tables for placing serving trays.

I downloaded all of the customer reviews for these grills from Home Depot’s website and plotted them side by side. This grill does everything I need it to do and more. The propane gauge is useful and the burners give decent heat distribution. Every grill has its hot spots and I’ve found that regularly cleaning the burners makes a big difference. In response to the price, the Weber Spirit II is surprisingly cheaper than the Spirit grill. The improvements made on it enhance its user-friendliness, unlike the latter.

We will also run through the main differences as you go through the lineup so if you’re shopping in a store, you know what you’re looking at. The first number following the letter tells you how many burners there are, while the second number refers to features. The Genesis lineup gives you more models to choose from, although unlike the Spirit II, there are no two-burner models. As before, there are two sides tables to give you more space to cut and season your meat.

As a survivalist, I usually try to avoid leaving sticky stuff on my cooking tools since they can attract all sorts of dirt and dust over time which might harbor bacteria if not properly cleaned. So far, I’ve covered Blackstone Adventure a lot of the good points about this grill. One area that it is lacking in slightly is its build quality and design. When your lid handle gets so hot that it melts after only one use, then there’s something wrong!

It’ll also thoroughly cook your chicken and create picture-perfect asparagus spears. This is a grill that will stand the test of time to give you enjoyable BBQs for years to come. The one difference that makes any difference at all between these grills is that the Flavorizer bars on the E215 are stainless steel while the ones on the E210 are porcelain enameled steel.

So please make sure when you are assembling/disassembling, that you don’t accidentally touch the metal parts of the spit with your hands. It’s definitely worth doing when you have some spare time (not during competition because you have to turn the meat so much and can’t leave it unattended for very long). However, because it features three separate burners, it’s possible to set up multizone cooking. The app will alert you when grilling is done and it’s time to eat. This lets you step away from your grill and mingle with your guests or tend to other food that needs your attention.

Both series have come in handy as they are preferred due to their durability and good quality, even if they are more expensive than other grillers in the market. We will focus on Weber Spirit Model E-310 and Weber Spirit II Model E-310, which are popular in the market. If you plan on doing some low & slow smoking along with moderate searing/grilling, then I would recommend getting a different grill such as the Weber Smokey Mountain or some sort of pellet smoker.
