Dyson’s Robot Vacuum Has 360-Degree Camera, Tank Treads, Cyclone Suction

Impressively, this robot returns itself to its docking station to charge. However, it occasionally struggled with this, bumping into the docking station rather than parking itself. In addition, when it does steer onto the docking port, it can be insecure. On one occasion, having watched the vacuum take itself back to its dock, leaving it there between tests, we were disappointed to return to find it had not charged properly. Keeping up with the maintenance of your robotic vacuum is of paramount importance. You should have a regular schedule of things such as battery checks, clogs, emptying the dustbins, checking the extractors for tangles and general cleaning.

But for Schweitzer and a large percentage of users dissatisfied with their myoelectric prosthesis, the prosthetic industry has yet to provide anything fundamentally better or cheaper than body-powered prostheses. This makes a reliable addition to any home, proving a consistent cleaner on hard floors and carpet. While its cleaning pattern wasn’t that efficient, the app documents its path so you can see which spots may need tending to manually. It also lets you set up no-go areas and cleaning schedules easily and the vac responded well to voice control.

If you clean with it, it’s likely that Jon oversees its testing. Since joining the Reviewed in 2012, Jon has helped launch the company’s efforts in reviewing laptops, vacuums, and outdoor gear. In the pursuit of data, he’s plunged his hands into freezing cold water, consented to be literally dragged through the mud, and watched paint dry. Dyson says this is because it covers the most amount of square footage with the least amount of movement—saving battery life and time. If you were to turn on the Eye in the middle of an empty room, you’d see it move one robot-width every time it turned, spiraling outwards until it hit the edges of the room. When it comes to features, the most impressive is the source of the 360 Eye’s name–a panoramic camera that scans for obstacles and landmarks, triangulating the vacuum’s location in a room.

Other robotic vacuums operate on an efficient, hug-the-walls, cleaning-inwards spiral pattern. The Heurist has been designed as a ‘learning’ robot which means that it does not take the simplest route, because it is constantly recalculating it’s distance from walls and furniture. So rather than, say, following a wall for two metres, it will stop and start while it scans the wall every few seconds. This resulted in it taking 50 minutes to map and 35 minutes to clean our test room, a poor result compared to other robot vacuums.

Now, it dyson robot vacuum looks like Dyson may be gearing up for a US release of a robot vacuum. The 360 Eye picked up a lot of the pet hair, but the rest was stuck along the side of the test pen. The 360 Eye came in last place on the rice test, picking up just 2.18 ounces on the plush carpet, 1.85 ounces on the berber-style carpet, and 2.13 ounces on the hardwood floor.
