Since we’re talking about 0.01 differences in some cases, this result is still excellent. I was impressed with the 360 Eye’s tread-like wheels, though; they raise up when needed so the vacuum could travel over large power cords and transitions between hardwood floors and carpet. In addition to its digital V2 motor that Dyson says “spins at up to 78,000 revolutions per minute,” the way a robot vacuum sees rooms has a huge impact on its ability to clean. The 360 Eye by Dyson is a very good robot vacuum, but competitors offer similar features and better performance for less. The 360 Heurist has plenty of performance improvements over the original 360 to make it a better cleaner – we’ll get to those – but the most intriguing feature is night vision. The good news is you can prevent this from happening using some settings in the app, which I’ll get onto in a bit. However, if you have furniture with small gaps underneath them the Heurist obviously won’t be able to limbo its way in there. In my house, we have a big side cabinet that our Roborock machines have no issues navigating under but the Dyson doesn’t come close to getting involved.
However, unlike the basic mapping of the 360 Eye, the Heurist really ups the game with personalized zones and room settings. If, like me, you have got side units and appliances that you do want the gap underneath cleaning then the Dyson isn’t for you. You do end up sacrificing large parts of your flooring as no-go zones irobot vacuum cleaner due to its taller stature. This model will likely be launched inside the United States later this year. It’s not a lock – there’s no absolute definite answer until Dyson makes an announcement, but an appearance with the FCC like this generally means we’re going to see the product appear in stores in the near future.

The 360 Eye has one full-length bar that combines nylon bristles with carbon fiber brushes for cleaning on all floor types. The bar replaces the need for side brushes as it is the entire width of the machine. As it cleans, it will update where it has been, what areas still need to be cleaned and how far along the grid it is. Moving furniture doesn’t matter, as the map is constantly being updated on every cleaning cycle. Even if you relocated the vacuum and charging station prior to the next cleaning cycle, there wouldn’t be many issues in navigation.
