Our Review of the Bissell Wet-Dry Vacuum Cleaner and Mop

Get the best value on product protection including fast repairs or replacements.

The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max is reasonably easy to store. The dock also has a drying rack for its brushroll and filter. Break free from the restrictions of cords and cables with the BISSELL 3-in-1 CrossWaveTM Cordless cleaner.

Probably my favorite feature of the Bissell Crosswave Max is that it works on carpets! Not only does it vacuum everything up on my carpet, but it refreshed my carpets making them smell fantastic. Try releasing the trigger after making a pass and going over the wet spot a few times without spraying. But be careful not to use too much cleaning solution as it could leave a sticky residue behind.

It can be hard to push around on low and high-pile rugs, as its brushroll can get bogged down on carpet fibers pretty easily. Still, the lack of a power cord makes it noticeably easier to maneuver compared to the BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro. The Max and BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro each have distinct advantages, meaning one might suit you better than the other, depending on your needs. Both vacuums use similar detergent-dispersal functions and do a good job of dealing with dried-on stains as well as liquid spills. They’re also pretty similar in terms of dimensions and overall weight. That said, the corded Pet Pro can run indefinitely but at the cost of a limited range.

It easily clears away small and bulky debris like rice and cereal, with no significant loss in suction performance as its dustbin fills up. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max has a fairly spacious dirt compartment. It’s smaller than that of more conventional cordless uprights like the Shark Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away, though it does have a max fill line that lets you know when it’s full. It’s important to note that this vacuum also has a 28 oz (828 ml) water tank for its mopping feature.

It’s excellent on hard floors, dealing with tough stains quickly, and does a reasonable job with lighter stains on carpets and rugs, too. Decent battery life combined with fast cleaning should result in enough juice for most people to manage their homes. A relatively high price means that those on tighter budgets will be better off with a plug-in model. It’s expensive, though, so if your budget is smaller then check out my guide to the best hard floor cleaners has alternatives. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max and Dyson Omni-glide are differently-designed vacuums with differing intended use cases, though they’re both meant for cleaning bare floors.

Its brushroll motor is stronger than its cordless alternative, so you can use this vacuum to clean carpeted floors. However, the Cordless Max can be used to easily clean faraway rooms with minimal difficulty. It also features a self-cleaning function that slightly reduces hands-on maintenance requirements. After being impressed with the Bissell CrossWave Cordless hard floor cleaner, the company is back with a lighter, more powerful model. As with its sibling, the Bissell CrossWave Cordless Max can tackle hard floors as well as rugs and carpets. The BISSELL CrossWave Cordless Max and Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet share an upright configuration, but they’re for different uses.

You can then easily lift out the brush and stand it upright for drying. With the brush removed, you can wipe the floor head shark cordless clean. Although this model is called the CrossWave Cordless Max, it’s no bigger than the previous CrossWave Cordless.

Hands down, I would 100% recommend this small appliance if you’re in the market for a new vacuum cleaner. To use this feature all you have to do is make sure there is enough solution in the tank. If not, fill up the tank with warm water to the self-cleaning line. I have a few shag rugs and the high-pile seems to get caught in the roller. My cleaning isn’t delayed by having to clean the brushes and then letting them dry before using again, because they do need to be rinsed with hot water between uses. The crosswave is much more expensive with many more features but essentially does the same thing as the pet pro model.

The website does say that they have improved this feature, but it’s still not ideal for those areas because there are no attachments. At this point, I pop out the roller and windshield attachment to make sure everything is wiped out and cleaned before retiring my vacuum for the day. You can even set up helpful alerts to make sure your vacuum stays in perfect working condition. You just have to set up bissell app alerts all within the app. Yes, the Crosswave pro max does have wifi connectivity that works well with bissell app called the bissell connect app.
