Weber 61015601 Genesis II EX-315 3-Burner 39,000 Propane Smart Grill

The Weber Genesis II 335 is another excellent grill in a long time of top-end Weber Grills. Read our Weber Q3200 review for another great gas option but do note it is natural gas only, not propane. I reviewed a grill in the LX portable bbq series, which comes with a few more BTUs of heat and some additional bells and whistles. You can find similar features in other grills or buy them as after-market add-ons, but having them built into the model is a nice touch.

This grill also has a little bit more power than the E-310, but not as much space or features. Since you’re going to be dropping a few hundred dollars on this grill, it’s important to know how the customer service holds up. What makes the Weber Genesis II E-310 a superior grilling experience is its ability to be paired to a mobile app.

With two of three burners going on a windy (but not that windy) day, this is a big flop. The 13,000 BTU internal sear station gets up to temperature quickly and can help achieve that hard, restaurant-style sear. The SPX-435 includes 7mm diameter Stainless Cooking Grates. The integrated grease management system makes cleaning up a lot easier. With the new Genesis line comes the new Weber CONNECT system.

For the second test, I bumped up the dials a tiny fraction above their midpoint, and the temperature inside the grill rocketed up to 460 degrees in 30 minutes where it stayed. White meat from the breast was slightly dry, however, and overcooked. Regardless I prefer Weber’s targeted approach and the iGrill software overall. Barbecue enthusiasts will enjoy the handy graph that extrapolates when your meal will be done based on current conditions. My favorite feature is how the software pings you when you’re 10 degrees out from your probe’s target temp. It then pings you each time the thermometer rises by 1 degree until your food is done.

The two-tone gray exterior with that enameled black lid definitely looks the part of a premium grill. If it could talk, it would say, “Well, hello there,” where many grills are saying, “Wazzup! ” The bottom line — it looks like a barbecue for a serious griller. In 2004 the family decided to create a home heating oil division to help offset the stagnant winter sales of outdoor products. They began to provide heating oil at fair prices to the entire Lehigh Valley.

If you are looking to use your grill more often or consider yourself a lifestyle griller, a Genesis model might be for you. For the most part, the grilling community seems to agree that the E-310 has impressive storage, space, and overall build compared to most gas grills. Controlled via your smartphone, the iGrill 3 uses a digital thermometer to monitor the grilling system. You can also set timers, alarms and even monitor your propane tank levels.

At the base of the unit, you will find plenty of storage space, including 6 hooks where you can hang your utensils. They offer less temperature variation, allowing an even heat across the entire grill. The propane tank is kept inside an enclosed cabinet at the bottom of the grill.

Full-blast was too much; if I backed off, the temperature quickly dipped. I spent 25 minutes fussing with the burner knob every few minutes, at which point I gave up, feeling like I was driving a boat that just didn’t have the power to sail upwind. Portable grills are a fantastic grilling solution since they can be fired up regardless of where you are or what your living situation is like. This model comes with the frame for the Weber CRAFTED cookware system so you don’t have to spend any extra money on prepping your grill. Instead, you can pick and choose whether you want the pizza stone or any other pieces of cookware.
