Flynn told us that the advantage of the lighter aluminum poles found in the company’s Jade Canyon tent is purely about weight. But it’s one of the least expensive tents we found that will truly cover all the bases for three-season car-camping in most conditions you’re likely to encounter.

The main room has a divider down the middle, and then there’s the pop-out room on the backside. This pop-out room is great to use as a kid’s play area, a gear storage “garage,” or just an adults-only sleeping room. Every single one of our camping experiences has been ruined because of the ozark trail tents. I would like a response to this please and I do expect some compensation of some kind! The design change I want to comment on concerns the little “laundry room” that protrudes out the back of the tent. The short pole supplied for that protrusion splintered in two places and poked about four small holes in the black fabric of the laundry bubble. Better instructions on how it should be installed would have prevented the splintering, but I would rather have seen the “laundry room” not be an outside protrusion from the back of the tent.
Again, Ozark Trail tents are mainly fair weather camping tents (so you won’t be hiking into the backcountry with them) which means weight and packed size aren’t a big priority. With that being said, there are a few things you’ll want to know going into your purchase. First, all Ozark Trail tents should be considered “fair-weather” shelters.
The assembled weight of this tent is 13.5 pounds, and it’s suitable for all seasons. If you’re going camping in less than ideal weather, attach the rainfly to keep the inside dry. It’s made with factory-sealed seams, so it’s durable and can withstand very wet weather. Camping can be a lot of fun, especially with your friends or family. But rather than having each person bring their own tent, you can save space and money by opting for a larger tent that fits everyone.
