The 1000 is the basic model of the Weber Q portable series. But don’t let the word “basic” discourage you from buying this model. It’s considered a staple in the Weber world and is a great portable propane grill to own.

As long as you keep up on cleaning and any maintenance it holds up for years.
It seems like it was a one-off fluke, and honestly, the resolution was simple enough that it didn’t bother me too much. This little grill cooks just as well as my full sized Weber Genesis II 300 series. Since I am only cooking for two of us now, capacity is not an issue. I can put it in the weber q trunk and take it to the park or beach. The stand itself is a bit on the flimsy side but it’s nice for use on the deck and I can fold everything down and roll it away in the corner when not in use. The only downside is that I go through the 1lb gas bottles after only a handful of cooks.
