With a simple dial control to manually select your desired cooking time and temperature, and a touch screen display to choose between the smart programmes, it’s really easy to use. When the air fryer is in operation, hot air is released through instant vortex the air vents. Keep your hands and face at a safe distance from the air vents and take extreme caution when removing hot accessories from the appliance. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or property damage. The cooking basket rotates during cooking, so your fries or wings will tumble during cooking, meaning they’ll cook and brown evenly.
We also record how long each air fryer takes to heat up and cook. The faster an air fryer is, per 100g of chips and chicken cooked in our tests, the higher the star rating for cooking time. I’m surprised Lakeland do not include a small cookery book width this product considering the price. I’ve looked on line with each item i’m cooking to get an idea of cooking time. Even this unique rotisserie basket is simply perfect for air frying. By having so, you don’t need to shake your recipe halfway.

As with all of our air fryer reviews, our first task was to get cracking on some good old-fashioned spuds. Before we began, we had to download the brand’s app because this machine doesn’t come with an included recipe booklet, an element we found handy in rival brands for a quick reference point. We measure how much energy uses, per 100g of chips and chicken cooked in our tests. The more energy efficient it is, the higher the star rating and overall test score.
Chicken drumsticks are also cooked in all the air fryers to see how well each does at creating a crisp coating without overcooking and drying out the insides. When we tested this in our Lab, everyone was very impressed with the results. The French fries came out extra crispy with a “steamy, soft, mashed-like potato” interior. This was unlike the papery skin found with other tested models. Though we could only fit two large chicken tenders in the basket, they were evenly baked and crispy. It’s worth noting that when we sent this model home to a tester, she wasn’t as impressed with the fries, saying some came out really crispy and others completely soft.
