Keurig K-Mini

It’s simple to use and clean, and it’s compatible with all regular K-Cups. Plus, it brews hot, tasty coffee at the touch of a button. On a related note, coffee makers compatible with k-cups are typically more expensive. Keurig holds a prominent position in the market place, and dictates the prices. On one hand, Keurig claims that all the plastic its coffee machines and K-pods are made of, is FDA approved and BPA free, and hence, safe to use. My K-Cup, however, appears to defeat the purpose of a single cup coffee machine.

Considering its price, there are better coffee maker bargains out there. The Bosch Tassimo T55 is another single-serve coffee maker that uses T-discs instead of K-Cups. While K-Cups are more prevalent and easier to find, the cost of the two is comparable. Although the Sboly single-serve is not a Keurig machine, it is compatible with K-Cups. So, you can invest in a more affordable option while still enjoying the convenience and flavor of a K-Cup. This machine also works with ground coffee, so you can use any kind of coffee that you prefer.

While testing, the shortest recorded brew time was two minutes flat, and the longest two minutes and 30 seconds. This is lightning quick, but it may be the culprit of why K-Cups don’t always taste all that great. The K-Mini stabs open a coffee pod, then sputters warm water through it without fully soaking all of its grounds or allowing them to steep. Like all Keurigs, the K-Mini only accepts K-Cup branded coffee pods to brew coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, though thankfully, grocers carry a wide range. These pods can run anywhere between $7 to $14 per 12-pack, the lower end being grocery chain branded pods and the higher end Starbucks branded.

The K-Mini has a shape similar to a dry food storage container, but with plenty of color options to make it stand out.

Target Circle coupons are sometimes personalized based on your shopping history, which is why this coupon may not be available for everyone. If you have it, you’ll be able to buy this Keurig for better-than-last-year’s Black Friday price. Unique to the K-Mini, though, is the power cord storage located on the back of the machine. You can feed the cord through the appliance’s back and stow it away, making it great for moving around, or even just hiding an excess of cords in your kitchen. The Cuisinart Coffee has a list price of $79, but it’s frequently on sale for less.

When you press both buttons at once, it initiates the self-cleaning cycle. Keurig isn’t the only brand to dream up a single-serve coffee maker and put it on the Hamilton Beach market. The K Mini Plus definitely has some competition on the market, so it’s a good idea to check these models out before making a final buying decision.
